Zero Speed Tolerance
You had better obey the speed
limits when driving through
Ohio. With the advent of our new speed cameras, it appears that the state is serious about slowing traffic down and stopping deaths from auto accidents. It does give new meaning to the idea of coming to a "dead stop"! lol
I'm sorry if you didn't realize that this is a joke. Ohio has many wonderful Highway Patrol officers, most of them have never used their gun for any purpose. I know, my son-in-law has been in the Patrol for over twenty-five years and one grandson is waiting for a new class to begin, so he can join. Forgive me for being flip.

Excuse me, but has your state really installed cameras in robot looking things with gatlin guns?
You'd think that the price of gas would be enough to make us slow down, since high speeds guzzle more of it!
Wow, that would grab headlines: "Ohio road-side machines begin shooting speeders." Shudder...
Guess what? I broke down and posted a new Dismaying Story. Drop by if you get a chance.
We recently moved to a state in the middle of the country and since we moved here, we joined the people living here in driving 35 to 45 mph and not so much on a freeway, so consequently we are getting such great gas mileage. Quite a contrast from where we were living on many freeways and filling the tank twice a week.
we've had those cameras all over our area for years-although not w/ guns attached.
I agree with Molly about the gas prices. We've seen a lot less traffic since no one can afford to pay for gas...
Speeding is so easy to do, but driving the speed limit just really protects everyone.
Will write you at your email, Kacey.

We need some of those kind of machines in Michigan. The kind that really zeroes in on those maniac drivers. While driving around Mt. Pleasant yesterday we observed a road rage incident where two drivers were jockeying along the highway cutting eachother off, driving off on the shoulder to pass, etc. Ironically, this was right by a "Welcome to Michigan" rest center.
Wow, I haven't seen one of these yet Kacey, but Im sure the first big trip we take I will. Although that thing may cause accidents just by scaring the crap out of people.
Have you ever noticed on your trips back and forth to FLA. that Ohio seems to have many more Highway Patrol out on 75 than any of the other states?
Just this morning I was talking about these speed cameras with my son. They're all over this city, with many being downtown. I was rather annoyed with them one late night last winter when I had to bring my car to a stop on ice when it would have been safer for me to coast on through the intersection. There was no traffic at that hour, and the camera forced me to take a risk!
You can't please everybody, I guess...
Hugs,
Betty
